Get paid
Haul it Monday. Get paid Tuesday.
Smart Freight Funding factors freight invoices for carriers and pays out the next business day — on any trailer type, flatbed and open deck included. No contracts, and they do the invoicing.
Strap it, tarp it, deliver it — and have the money before the fuel card bill lands, instead of thirty days later.
Sibling company in the BulkLoads family. Its own application, approval and terms. Signing up happens on their site.
What it does
Smart Freight Funding, in short.
Next-day pay on the invoice you just sent.
Paid within 24 hours
Most shippers and brokers pay in twenty to thirty days. Smart Freight Funding pays within 24 hours of getting your documents.
No contracts
Nothing to sign that locks you in. Factor the loads you want factored, and stop whenever you want to stop.
They send the invoice
Invoicing the broker is included. You get paid for hauling the load, not for the paperwork that follows it.
A named accountant
One person assigned to your account who handles the receivables, not a queue and a ticket number.
Scan from the cab
Send the BOL and the rate confirmation from the BulkLoads app. No scanner, no truck stop fax machine.
No ACH or hidden fees
Their published terms: no ACH fees, no hidden charges, and a real person on the phone every time.

Why open deck carriers factor
Open deck runs on a worse cash cycle than most people outside it realise. The straps, chains, binders, edge protectors, corner boards and tarps are bought up front and replaced constantly. A lumber tarp is several hundred dollars and it is a consumable. Deadhead to the next steel mill is paid out of pocket. Then the invoice sits for thirty days.
Factoring closes that gap. You send the paperwork, the money lands the next business day, and the thirty-day wait becomes Smart Freight Funding's problem instead of yours. For an owner-operator or a small fleet, that is frequently the difference between taking the good load in the next state and taking whatever is close enough to make payroll.
Not just bulk
Smart Freight Funding came out of bulk freight, and that is still where most of their volume is. But their stated position is explicit — all trailer types, any freight. Flatbed, step deck, RGN, double drop and lowboy invoices are factored the same as a hopper load.
The practical advantage of it being a family company is the paperwork path. Documents go in through the BulkLoads app you already have on your phone, and the people reading them recognise a flatbed rate confirmation when they see one.
What they will want to know
The application asks the normal factoring questions: your authority and MC number, how long you have been running, who your customers are, roughly what you invoice a month, and whether you are currently under contract with another factor. Being tied to an existing factor is the one that trips people up — check your notice period before you apply.
Approval and funding are handled entirely by Smart Freight Funding. FlatLoads does not underwrite, approve, or fund anything, and does not see your application.
