WTAF Texas based pneumatics? Why are you all running round trips for 4 dollars and less per loaded mile? Just talked to a broker that posted two loads on here. 550 loaded miles and deadhead back for 1900 dollars. Nearly 1000 will be diesel! Broker claims that he has someone on it regularly but they are working a project for two months. I don't believe that part. The part that makes it even more ridiculous is it's for oilfield work. Which we all know is/was 7 to 10 dollars per loaded mile. Did 10 similar loads in October at 8.45 per mile. This crap is insane. The blame here is squarely on the carriers. $1.72 all miles BEFORE FUEL. AND it isn't everyday work. Which means you will be constantly paying for washouts. It's cement, so you're trailer will be trashed inside and out if you don't keep it washed. It makes no sense.

Agree. Started seeing rates drop from $8 to $10 a loaded mile this time last year. Fuel is about as high now as it was then. A broker I used frequently said they're taking cement loads to oil field site locations for less than $4 a loaded mile. I wouldn't haul to a batch plant for that much less offroad to a well site. Carriers have junk equipment that won't unload. No hammer union fittings. No dust bag. They get what they pay for.

You must be talking about the loads from Waco/woodway. They are out of their minds. But they double dip. They take a percentage off top and then their percentage. Contact me and let's talk.

I talked to them but it isn't the one I'm talking about. She said one load per day for 500 dollars and I could dedicate a pneumatic to the load. I said tie up a 80k trailer for 500 dollars per day? This is the Buba/Cleburne to Port Fourchon LA. Fuel is creeping to 5 dollars per gallon again. These carriers are insane. Are you a broker?

Exactly. Truck driving is the only industry or occupation that I can think on where experience and reliability counts for nothing. Because people would rather get the cheapest truck available. Then when things go horribly, blame the truck industry. If you're honest with your insurance and tell them you'll be doing off road and oilfield work your insurance cost will jump up. I'm always honest because of the proverbial "what if" I unloaded yesterday next to a guy with a steer tire that was partially smooth in spots. I had to put my respirator on because his product line and two tees were leaking. I'm about 90% positive that he was running loads cheaper than me. Because the broker tried to lower our previously negotiated rate. I said no and he didn't send the confirmation until that morning. Instead of in advance like normal. Guess he couldn't find more cheap trucks.
