my question is what can I do about not getting paid? The guy I was hauling for fired my driver. And sent someone to get the trailer before I even knew there was a problem. Then on the last seddlement he deducted 4000. Saying that was for holding trailer and quiting without notice. I have contacted a few lawyers but he lives in a different state then me. So nobody close to me would take it. When I called a lawyer in his town they wanted 1500 and for me and my driver to come down talk to him. Then both of us to come to court. Well the driver don't work for no more . So what other options do I have. Could anyone help me out here on what I should do.

First stop hauling for him. Then talk to them, try settle out of court. Last resort 1099 him that is earned income for him. And make sure in your contact that there is no provision for him to do what he did.

Your need to expose his name. Was it your driver's fault, more information.
