We find that Florida works the best for us. I just couldn’t resist. Have a safe and good new year

What type of fuel heater? Tank heaters? Fuel filter heaters? Hotline?

Artic fox is probably the best, most common nowadays. Stainless steel construction, no corrosion issues. Several different models to choose from on their website.

In line heater was looking at a Artic fox one that goes rite before fuel filter. Kinda thinking Florida would be a good option.

I ran that set up on my last truck, worked real well. I have always been curious how well a hot line set up works, I know they were popular in the late eighties, early nineties, but I have no experience with any of those, so I can't offer any advice on the hot line set up..... Maybe someone else on here could comment on their performance?

For what it's worth I had a set of fox heaters in tank heaters on my truck for a few years. I decided to disconnect them when I lost the oil cooler and save the headache of routing water lines back under the bunk for both tanks.

Honest to God truth is that I have had no more or less problems with cold fuel or gelling I'm sure they have their place where it gets brutally cold such as Canada Alaska and up in norther North Dakota but I can't see a use for them south of about Mobridge.

One other item it seems as though I have had less of an alge problem. I had alge 2 times in 2 years with fox heaters, and I'm not going to blame the fox heaters for it I may not have fully killed it off the first go round but since I've removed them never had alge since.

My 2014 VT64VNL came with a Davco filter with the fuel heater base. I've never had a problem with fuel in the winter. I drive mostly North of Omaha up into Canada. Last week it was in the Sioux Falls Volvo dealer and they told me some antifreeze was getting into the fuel. They found it in the primary filter. They replaced the base.I expect to go the rest of the trucks life without a problem. I was surprised to find out that it was possible for the antifreeze to get into the fuel there,
