Couple of SA here on farm visa. Farm has a custom harvesting operation. They have a temporary cdl. SUPPOSE TO BE USED FOR THE COSTOM HARVESTING AND FARM

they (African) are doing commercial hauling fertilizer and hauling gravel in between seasons

is the broker of the gravel and the broker for fertilizer guilty of human trafficking and aiding and abetting Africans are supposed to only do work or harvesting Ex: haul combines for the farmer aka harvesting and haul grain within 150 miles for the harvesting

the Africans have been doing this for at least 2 yrs maybe more.

anyone else know of this happening

Would they have a working MC# and insurance/etc? It might not be apparent to anyone that they can't haul whatever it is they are hauling.

How is human trafficking involved? I am ignorant of the situation and would be curious to learn more.

If you are that concerned about human trafficking, why are you here tell everyone? Call the police. If I could knew the process of hiring a SA, I would do it. All my interactions with them have been positive. I know of a few big companies that hire them for hopper bottom, Live Floor, Dump, etc.

SA's are no competition to us. People who are hiring them aren't even pulling from the limited labor pool we have access to; they are hiring them from outside our labor pool.

To call it human trafficking when there are hundreds of SA who work out their visa, go home to reset, and come back time after time, is a bit of a stretch. I hardly think they would do it if they were being mistreated.

That being said, how do I access SA's who want to work?

I'm totally surprised at the non chalant attitude. If it was immigrants coming accross border would it be the same attitude. If it was affecting your job you would want everyone to look the other way. Where do you draw the line? I suppose only when it cuts into your business? If it concerns someone el se ...heh who cares? Kind of like farmers runnfarm plates, etc. Heh doesn't hurt anyone as long as it's not your backyard. Right ? I'm so old now bring it on.

Dept of labor. Says they must stay with the sponsor if he farms and has a custom harvesting they can only work there. They CANNOT be used elsewhere. They are commercial hauling. DOL says the other people are aiding and abetting because of profiting off of the labor.

Affecting my job? The hiring pool is so small that farmers bring in workers from OS. Are you going to go take a job for $2500 a month working 14 hours a day on a farm? Not me, I've been there. Custom Harvesting crews and their owners get away with murder. They pay horrible wages, no OT, long hours, short rest breaks.

AND, they do it legally. Farmers are allowed to have slaves (as I unfortunately learned).

I promise you, Custom harvest crews are not offering jobs that anyone with bills can afford to take.

BUILD THE WALL

CUT OFF WELFARE AND STOP PAYING PEOPLE TO SIT ON THEIR ASSES.

CUT OFF FOOD STAMPS AND MAYBE SOME PEOPLE HERE MIGHT HAVE TO GET OFF THEIR FAT ASSES AND GO TO WORK

CUT UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS

STOP PAYING PEOPLE TO HAVE MORE KIDS

AS FAR AS FARM PLATED TRUCKS HAULING HIRED OUT FREIGHT I DO NOT SEE IT IN MN. IA. OR WI. FARMERS ARE TOO BUSY WITH OTHER STUFF.

IF THIS COUNTRY HAD A LITTLE TOUGH LOVE NO ONE WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.

Here is what a SA guy told me about their job one time. I asked him how come they spend all that money coming here just to haul grain. He said because the money he made here was worth , I forget how many times more, in Africa. But now 1 buck is worth over 19 Rand in SA. It was on that gov program. As far as hauling other things, I bet they look the other way under Biden admin. There are guys where I park that own trucks . They claim from Cuba. But in violation of fed law they do not speak English. Supposed to be arrested when caught driving. But not any longer I guess.

Never going to happen! The Govt needs people to be dependant on them to justify their existance! 25 years ago, I read that 51% of all workers were employed by a Govt agency, IE techers, cops, firemen and all other positions federal, state and local. With that being said, How is it sustainable for our economy when the middle class pays the bills for everyone? I am sure that the percentage is now higher! Now add 10% that are basically worthless and suck at the govt teet and the upper 2% who have enough money to hide their money, now you have 39% of the country paying for 100% of the people! Sure, those people working govt jobs pay taxes BUT they are a net drain on the economy. We need a muligan and start over! We need the days back when people took pride in themselves and worked a hard day's work for an honest day's pay! I used to think my parents were nuts for some of the things they said, but boy were they spot on! Lord help us with where this country is headed! Pretty sad when people with a camera, posting on Youtube and Only Fans are making millions per month while the common man barely gets by! I'm a 57 year old, fat, white man and I guess I need to get me an Only Fans page and start showing my boobs! UGH!!!

Temporary cdl? ...The ones turning up in the OH/KY area have no cdl at all.. and no idea how to operate a hopper.
Guess it was foolish to think this wasn't happening elsewhere..

While they may not know how to operate a hopper, I hear they are the best with a hooper, maybe they got a CDL and hours of service exemption when pulling the hooper. Lord knows we need a few more hooper haulers!🤦😂😂

As long as they are hauling for the Custom Harvester and he is the one paying them then, they are in compliance. They come to the US to work in their winterseason as the pay is much higher then what they make back home. This helps them to be able to Farm in their country. This is NOT Human Trafficking.

South Africans are sponsored by a farmer in laNsford nd who also has a small custom combining operation so they have a temp cal to only be used for the custom combining to haul the equipment needed and to haul grain on the farm or elevator for the operation

mister farmer sends the a SA to work at a trucking company in Norwich nd ( human trafficking according to dept of labor) now the trucking company is aiding and abetting. Along with the fertilizer dispatch in Beulah nd

harvesting is happening now in nd. Odd the SA are still hauling gravel and fertilizer for the trucking company and not working for the sponsor

the dept of labor and local detective are working Wondering about unemployment benefits and insurance

the trucking company is brokering loads to without a broker authority aiding and abetting.

YES THEY ARE HARD WORKERS. I SAW SOME PICKING UP ROCKS ON A FARM NEAR WHERE I LIVE LAST SPRING. WORKED ALL DAY OUT IN THE HOT SUN CLEARING THE ROCKS OFF A FIELD SO THE THE FARMER COULD SEED IT AND NOT DAMAGE THE HARVESTING EQUIPMENT LATER. MY BEEF IS HOW THE US GOVERNMENT PAYS PEOPLE TO SIT ON ASS DOING NOTHING THAT ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE TO WORK. FOOD STAMP FRAUD, UNEMPLOYMENT CHECK FRAUD AND TIME LIMIT, DISABLITY FRAUD. COLLEGE MONEY FRAUD, BIG SLAP IN THE FACE TO SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT SERVED IN THE MILITARY AND GOT SHORT HANDED FOR PUTTING THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE.
