crude oil this morn was at $14 a barrel, been out about the midwest and have bought fuel at $1.59 in nebraska at a coop last week, ask manager how he is selling it at that price and he said he doesnt need to gouge his customer right now,in iowa we have a country store that is big enough that it can charge what it wants and is keeping prices high in rural iowa, fueled at elkader iowa 3 wks ago at $1,85 a gallon diesel,He had people from 40 miles away comming in to get fuel.asked him what his margin was 20 to 30 cents and he said it was something like that ,so that means that at higher prices they are making anywhere from 70 to 1.00 buck a gallon, is this going to be the new norm, fort dodge was selling ethonal unleaded for $1,15 last week and since no went down it has gone back up.Have called the state attorney general 5 times at 563 505 4520,state rep from harlan, iowa better trucking, which told me that that country store was one of there subscribers. under iowa admin code 61-31-1 714 when ther is emergancy declace no one should charge more for prouducts, still cant get anywhere,MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS PEOPLE ,or this will be the new norm, also called bulk loads rep to see about starting a new diesel buddy sight in bulkloads( like gas buddy) so we can patrone the stores and truck stop who are not gougeing there custormer ,thanks for the time J.R.

I think the GasBuddy bulkloads version is a great idea!!! Maybe even their own version of trucker path??? I'm with you on the fuel discussion. I hope if some good comes out of this economic disaster, its that people realize value and stop paying too much for everything , clothes, food, vehicles, fuel

My last 2 fill ups were 1.40 and 1.43, no doubt there is price gouging going on. I do get a negotiated discount but I know they ain't losing money. I will remember the people who took advantage of the situation while people suffer and stress, and I will not pass up the opportunity to return the favor. When this mess is over we'll be in the position to do so.

No doubt price gouging is happening but fuel taxes are also a mjor consideration. PA has the highest in the country. Even higher than California!
