Shipping swine feed from Quincy, IL to Laredo, TX in hopper bottoms and getting very high quotes. Looking for any guidance on how I can move the product more efficiently. Would it be better to use a different border crossing like Eagle Pass or Brownsville?

I don't know if you got the memo, but it's not cheap to run a truck. Need to pay up

Texas is a freight desert. There's very little coming back to the Midwest from that region. With the current cost of fuel those lanes get prohibitively expensive.

There is nothing close nearby to reload a hopper consistently The Valley is hit/miss Most likely just gonna have to pay a good rate

Efficiently open your wallet. Nobody is going to the border knowing they face a 400+ mile deadhead to find anything worth hauling out of Texas. It’s a black hole for outbound freight and combined with the current price of fuel and insurance nobody in their right mind is going down there for anything less than a premium rate. Favors and high fives don’t pay the bills.

Send me a email I’ll see what you have going on and see if I can give you a rate. How many loads and how long this mite go on. Thanks Michael email to [email protected]

LOL. Gotta pay to play. Texas sucks to get out of, and fuel is 6 bucks a gallon. Either pay up or it doesn't get moved.

First off why are you crossing into Mexico going from IL to TX? if you are that maybe where the added cost is coming from.
