I’ll be honest, I should have made this post a while back, so I apologize for that. Over the past couple of years, we’ve been putting a lot of time into filming and sharing weekly videos on our YouTube channel, https://youtube.com/@bulkloadsvids?si=vuealYsgcAKhf38F highlighting stories from across the bulk freight industry. From carriers to shippers to unique operations, it’s been a lot of fun getting out there and telling these stories. But here’s the thing… we don’t want to just create content we think is valuable. We want to create content that’s actually helpful to you. So I’d really love your input. * What kind of videos or topics would you like to see more of? * What problems or bottlenecks are you dealing with right now? * Are there certain parts of the business you wish more people would talk about or explain better? We’re always out talking to people in the industry trying to uncover real challenges and share ideas that can help others, but there’s no better place to ask than right here. Also, if there are specific companies or operations you’d love to see us feature, drop their name below. I’d be more than happy to reach out and see if we can tell their story. Appreciate you all being part of this community. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. — Jared

I viewed a YouTube short that you did regarding heavier loads. I'm not sure, but it may be interesting for some to learn about niche duty cycles and the companies, big and small, that operate in them. A lot of us who operate in unique markets like to learn how others in traditional markets prosper, maybe the inverse is true. |

New carrier funding for used equipment and newcarrier LLC. Banks are not the only player in town giving loans to starter carriers. Not the expensive new stuff that breaks down constantly and not really worth a crap. Not trash can trucks with the BS DEF / EGR the climate particle filters. Real leaners for pre 2000 trucks owners that want to get going cheaper to really start out? Not some $250,000 dollar rig BS. And the dumb old saying save your money BS game card. Thanks and take care |

Hey Craig. We actually already have that in the works with a few equipment financing companies. I'll try to move that one up the list! Thank you. |

I’d like to see more on building the backend to actually support growth. A lot of content focuses on adding trucks, but not what it takes behind the scenes to handle that volume. There’s a point where you max out what one person can realistically manage. Would be really valuable to see content around: • When and who to hire first (ops, dispatch, admin) • Building systems so things don’t rely on one person • Managing 10, 20, 50 trucks without everything breaking • Load tracking, billing, compliance, and communication at scale Also the structure side of growth. As things expand, it feels like you need multiple pieces working together—trucking, brokerage, and separate entities to own equipment and manage liability—to really create stability and support the operation as a whole. And more importantly, how to make the shift from owning a job to actually owning a business—where things can run and grow without everything depending on you day-to-day. There’s a big gap between running a few trucks and building real infrastructure behind it. That transition I think is where a lot of people get stuck, and it’d be great to see more content around it.

Hey Jarom — man, I love this topic. I know you’ve been to our conference several times, and one thing we really emphasize is being intentional about working on the business just as much as in the business. That’s where real growth starts to happen. At the end of the day, you’re building something bigger than just yourself. It’s for your family, your employees, and everyone counting on you. The challenge is figuring out how to grow without carrying it all on your own back. We’ve actually got a video dropping this Friday on our YouTube channel featuring two young entrepreneurs(Craig Broerman and Alan Lennartz) who partnered up — one focuses on the trucking side, the other on brokerage and dispatch. It’s been a great example of how dividing roles based on strengths can really click. That’s not the blueprint for everyone, but it does highlight something important — dialing in on your skill set and building around it. That’s what creates flexibility and gives you room to keep scaling. I’m still learning this myself. Been at it 16 years building BulkLoads and the other companies around it, and it’s a constant process. Really appreciate you bringing this up. Great conversation. |
