Still to cheap?

Remember 2008, fuel got expensive and big trucks started driving 58-62 MPH, and the news media showed soccer moms practicing Hyper mileage driving teqniques? This time nobody seems to care, so what’s changed? Is the Covid money offsetting the price of fuel?

I think so. But that will run out too. Just kicks the ball down the road a bit. It's got to be a bitch to pay $1.00 per mile for fuel. A DOLLAR!

Just imagine the people running intrastate in California $7 / gallon @ 5.5 mpg about $1.30 per mile. I don't know why there are still loads posted under $2 / mile, hell under $3 / mile is dumb.

5.89.9 fuel yesterday. Fuel in most of ND is priced by the red square. Aka cenex

got a call from a 24 yr old wants a job. Says needs 25.00/ hr. So I ask what skills does he have answer none. I also said no cell phones while working. Got hung up on

They are posted because people run them. I'm putting my pneumatic in the shop next week and was looking for power only loads to run while I don't have my trailer. A vulture told me he had a dry van that he needed moved from Dallas to Laredo. I asked for the rate and he said... "I'll LET you load it and keep it for 24 hrs" I said ok but what is the trailer move paying. He said nothing. I laughed and hung up.

Diesel / gas prices aren't too high yet. I was at the local farm fleet store today, beautiful day around 80 degrees. Three vehicles running in the parking lot with no one in them. Maybe a dog. I've seen it before. Usually a diesel pick up.

There's talk about "brown outs, black outs" and we're not charging many automobiles yet. I think we're in trouble.

Go back to the mid 1990's when JB, Schneider, Werner, etc. were running at 57-58 mph with their cabover "buses". We were concerned about fuel being over a $1.00 per gallon.

Tell him you'll be picking up a load in Mexico.
