It depends on your definition of messed up, if they are hot when they go into the trailer they absolutely will, but if they are cooled off it’s less of a problem, they are going to grind in and leave grooves in the plastic for sure, a thick liner will hold up better than a thin one will, it’s also going to depend on if it was properly installed when it was new. I have a buddy who does it on a daily basis, he puts in a new 1/2 inch thick liner every year.

Has anyone priced a new liner lately? I’ve heard some pretty outrageous numbers lately.

Your looking at more than double that if you get one made for abrasive loads, like a haulk liner, my buddy just got quoted $13,000.00 delivered, plus another three thousand for the install, in his 40 foot dump. You would think those loads would pay a better rate with that kind of added expense, but it’s typically a back haul, I’ve never seen anyone that could bounce for those, unless they are going 30 miles or something.

My understanding is the HUALK is promoted as a liner for abrasive loads like scrap metal, yet they won’t warranty it for that particular application, so I can’t help but wonder if it’s really worth that kind of money.
