SAND

Does anyone have experence hauling sand with a moisture content of 3-5%?

How well does it come out of a hopper? Will that be an issue in the winter.

Any insight would be aprecated.

I have hoppered frac sand quite a bit... PA/MD/WVA... over winter months. Very dry very very flowable. It will leak right out of even a small rivet hole etc.

Only freeze-up issues I had was with highway moisture causing sand, which leaked around bottom seals etc., to freeze-up/jam my trap door gears. I also made sure to not let a sand load sit in the trailer for more than a day or so.

Hope this helps.

I have pulled frac sand and golf course sand. The frac sand is dry so there is no issue in the winter but the golf course sand is wet and anytime you have moisture then you will have issues of it freezing to an ice cube in the winter.
