Bunge North America / Timothy Estes - Beginning, March 2021, I hauled numerous loads of corn for this company; however, they do not pay in a timely manner and owe me for two loads of corn hauled in May 2021. Further, rates do not always match rate quoted . I have had to send same invoices more than once. Any suggestions?? Smallwood Trucking (Bruce)

Well in the old days you could march down there and make it alright. But dont do that. I guess you could call higher up's and ask for 5 minutes face to face and show the receipts?

Bruce, You have the office location that hired you information find the local courthouse and file a small claim(Conciliation Court), has to be filed in court of Business operation. Get them Served and have your messages all printed out Scale Tickets, Invoice and the paystub (maybe picture of check). I had this with ADM, I tried a few rounds and couldn't do it for the rate they had I said when you can pay $.05/Bushel more I'll come back. Not 2 weeks later another broker in the office called me said he'd approve my rate, that was a lie and they fought but had to pay up. Been 2 years I haven't been to any ADM pretty sure they won't let my rigs in any more. Did some work for F6 Trucking from Fargo North Dakota they didn't want to pay wanted me to come to the office, I made it clear if I come to town my first stop will be the Courthouse to File and I will serve them when I arrive, They paid up.

Mark, Was this ADM Rice? I was in the works with them here nearby in our local "Rice Bowl" but if so, this would be good to know...

Bruce the best way and easiest way to get paid from a broker that wont pay is to file on their bond. All brokers that are legit must have it and should ways be checked before you haul a load. The bond info with pohone number can be found on the fmcsa sites. Call them and give the brokers mc number. Make a claim and file all you paperwork. If you have a legit claim the broker will have to pay or the bond company will pay you and it looks bad for broker when they renew their bond. As soon as you file it and the bond company calls them they will pay to get you gone. Costs you nothing and you dont have to go to their location. This is why the fmcsa required them to have a bond. So if your across country the broker knows you wont show up. If you haul for a shipper directly tho then you do not have this in your back pocket so keep that in mind. Everyone always wants to haul direct but there is no security going direct. TQL is the same file on their bond. A quick search shows Bunge's MC# is 819732. Look up their bond info and make a call.

Ok but why after multiple years of people posting on this site about how bad TQL and WATCO SUPPLY and other mega brokers are. Why is this abuse a revelation? There are more things to consider than the rate. But I guess you brain surgeons know it all. Art Pfluger

Brad, your idea about filing on a bond is a pretty good idea. The only flaw in that idea is that a broker bond doesn't always cover ag commodities. I have found out thru a couple painful experiences that commodities such as soy meal are not covered by the bond. Yes I am a broker and I carry the Broker Bond and I didn't know this until I ran head on into the problem.

TQL is worthless. Universally horrible. Shouldn't be allowed on load boards.
