I am new to BulkLoads - I am here doing some research and investigating before pulling the trigger on what trailer to grab up. I own a small company out of Stryker, OH hauling primarily dryboxes currently and I am looking to diversify. Is there any specific help that you boys ( and gals ) would suggest while we are making the jump into the market - It currently looks like buying an end dump would be about the best choice I could make as far as diversifying around our area. This whole paying by the Ton thing is a new idea as I am use to the ol RPM straight forward number - not mattering what the weight is. I have hauled Hoppers, Belts, and Dumps in the past - I just haven't ever owned one myself.
Appreciate the help! Boone Irwin |

We run 6 dumps, they are alot more versatile for us vs. a hopper. Yeah they're a little heavier, cost a little more - but we are loaded both ways most of the time - a lot more of the time than if we ran hoppers. I think you're on the right track. All equipment is crazy high priced compared to even a year ago, that's the only downside I see for jumping in at the moment. |

If you are new to hauling bulk loads, it may be helpful to do some research on the different types of bulk trailers and the commodities they typically carry. It's also important to understand the regulations and safety guidelines for transporting bulk materials, as well as any specific requirements for the commodities you'll be hauling.

I see loads of scrap going to Delta all the time... I would not want a very nice trailer to do that work with... |
