If you run even half ass legal and have descent equipment, there is not a soul in this business making any money at $2.50/mile if they are trying to paying the help a wage better than a part time job at McDonald's can pay. I almost wish DOT would go into full blown audit mode on a lot of companys. You cant win with them they put everything in a minute by minute time line of every truck and what they did. There will be a lot of companys with 1, 2, or 3 hundred thousand dollar fines and that would fix a lot shit. I been through it. not a joke. maybe get a few people paying there drivers on 2099s also on a tax audit to because the labor department will be at there do next. workman's comp and unemployment insurance is about 28% of the drivers gross wages alone to pay in. If everybody was to run leagally i garentee you the rediculas low rates would be gone tomorrow. Excuse me for wanting to run a clean company |

What you need to realize is you can’t do business with a third world country without turning into one, the fruits of your labor are being diverted to CEO’s on Wall Street, this industry is designed to maintain a revolving door so that wages don’t go up, only down. This industry functions like a cult because decenting voices are discouraged from its highest levels, any time a group of activists holds a demonstration the ATA or CTA condemns it and attempts a media blackout, just like what’s happening now up in Canada, free thoughts and expressions are never allowed in a cult.

If curt would have made this comment a couple years ago, the Rutherford types would have been telling him how he just needs to learn how to run a business better, but today we don’t seem to hear those folks, because they all went broke. Funny how that works.
