+ 5 - 1

So it's that hurricane time of year again. Lets talk about the equipment needed to do the clean up ie Grapple trucks, bucket trucks, walking floors and more then likely large end dumps. I mean we are always looking for this equipment usually goes anywhere from 2 to 4 months. There are still trucks hauling on in Loiusana.

questions , 39ft aluminum frameless works for this job?

most of the companies don't want frameless because is to haul debris to the Landfiels

or there is another job for frameless? ty

Sometimes we use belly dumps later on but usually your capacity is too small for you to be able to make money.

We prefer not to use frameless trailer because where you'll be dumping is usually a landfill or an area loaded with mulch. The ground can be unstable and as your wheels move they can and do sink into a hole and the truck rolls over. It's happened just about every time we've allowed them.

If you have a 2 stage wet kit I would recommend renting a walking floor. Very few end dumps exceed 80 CY(Cubic Yards) where a lot of walking floors are 120 CY. A full 1/3 larger. The capacity of the walking floor alone will cover the rental. If you have a choice of walking floors when renting dont' get a soft side, mulch only, trailer. They make ones for trash also demo (V bottom floor). The V bottoms are hard to find but the trash ones will do.

CY=(length x width x height)/27. All measurements in feet.

it's like any other tool it has a purpose. The lack of a frame reduces tare weight allowing for more payload. They just shouldn't be used where your dumping on soft surfaces. i think the coal industry uses them where they're dumping on concrete or hardpack. Occasionally we'll have dumpsites where the debris is being pushed into an incenarator and we'll allow them then.

I don't see how they could work. The material drops out the bottom correct? They don't raise and dump.

Still looking for trucks for haul out

So I'm still in need of Walking floors and large FRAMED end dumps. At the moment I have 14 different runs. I see a lot of guys talking about per mile numbers. If you're looking at it from that perspective my runs are usually between $4 and $5 per running mile. I based this off a 100 CY walking floor per run. We prefer walking floors we'll use end dumps but no frameless.

If someone gets up with me quick I currently need 2 trucks on a 4.5 mile run paying $2.25 per CY. Run the numbers on that one it's $25 per mile.

The end dumps need to be frame type feds don't allow frameless, you can use 1/4 frames
