Belt trailer rock problem

Loaded 1-4" fractured rock. Septic rock. Loader couldn't reach but barely enough so a lot of it stacked against the slope and wall. Very hard rock. So a bunch of it got under chain. Rock is hard enough chain won't crush it at sprocket. Is the problem the rock is on one side with out weight on chain? 3/4 of load came out ok. Just the last part. How do I avoid this problem? Did the one side clean out before the other ?

Yes oneside cleaned out before the other due to load not being loaded in center. All was well until there wasn't weight holding the belt down then it got under chain on both sides. 2 guys 8 hrs to get it out. At one point 1 chain was on the top of sprocket. Very disappointing as I bought the trailer specifically to haul aggregate out of my area to get to better location. Now I'm worried how you would deal alone away from home. I hauled a couple loads of dirt sand mix no problem but this was crazy. Not sure what to do. Might as well go back to my floors. As others said leave rocks to end dumps and I don't disagree as I see people work themselves to death trying to unload somethings from hoppers. A belt or floor would unload no stress. The point is that the manufacturer says the trailer should do this work.

Yes, I see. Not a good scenario. I do believe load not being in the center was part of the problem. I think I would talk to the trailer company and see what their advice would be. Or as someone mentioned, leave rock to the dumps.

I called manufacturer they said load not centered but there always seems to be some on the slope walls. I know people use these for aggregate but maybe the rock was to big or fractured instead of round rock. Don't know but not in a hurry to try again. Lava / pumice stone would have crushed in sprocket but this was a hard granite. Nothing with this trailer has been easy. Might be time to sell it.

Put an old beach towel or blanket under the front flap prior to loading the trailer. The weight of the load will press it down and act like a sweep tarp in a walking floor. Check to make sure your scraper flaps are in good shape.
