Tall Stacks?

Been told by brokers we can work around your stacks, but my friends says I need to cut or replace them. I know it would be easier lowering them. I am asking if anyone else has tall stacks, and if so, how do you deal with it? Tks alot.

We also run Dry Van so I like having the taller stacks, but not worth it now that we run %75 bulk.

There are quite a few places that we have gone to that you would not fit at 13 5. If you are over 12 foot I would ask before booking loads, most the time they have no idea anyways. I trimmed two of my trucks down since they got stuck somewhere not being able to even back in. We also run Dry Van so I like having the taller stacks, but not worth it now that we run %75 bulk.

Posted by a private FlatLoads.com member.	Posted by a private FlatLoads.com member. I would agree with ur friend and cut them down. I noticed ur from Kansas, alot of the elevators down there are 12'6 high with some at 11'6. I'm sure they look nice but how nice are they when there're bent up.

Hey Bae just to call you Super and each receiver before accepting a load and ask him specifically about the stacks and if you can back into where the load is picking up or delivering and that would alleviate your problem

I use my cb antennas as a height gauge. I have them mirror mounted and they are 2” taller than my stacks. I’ve done that on several of my trucks and seems to help.

There are a few places where backing can be a challenge for even a lot of experienced drivers...but ultimately the choice is yours. You can hit Ullom's semi junk yard (in Beloit, KS)and maybe get some shorter stacks or some to cut down so you have some spares if you dont want to cut yours off. Just a thought.

Said they were common in the dakotas so you could take stacks of while loading. Ive nevertheless seen a set for sale. Art Pfluger

We run quite a bit of livestock and like 13'2 - 13'6 but had so many issues on the hopper we cut them to 12'6. Alot less stress pulling into new places, got a few places where you have to pay attention.
