You just might want to get some legal advice on what can and cant be said about an employee..present or past..some states you can not say anything negative about them to a future employer..and what would keep a future employer from reading this...big red flag when new employer contacts past..would you rehire? Answer NO..that tells alot right there..

Joe i know that the others are right about covering your ass, but I've been there. If more people would just tell it straight we might weed some of these low lifes out. To few carriers will respond in a timely manner to past employment requests.
Hang in there. Art Pfluger |

You can say what you want as long as it's the truth. The part about not hiring him might be what gets you. No need to put that in as anyone who read your post will figure that out on their own. Freedom of speech lets us say whatever we want. People fail to realize that sometimes there can be consequences.

Our legal advisor, who cost a fortune, told us we can say anything we wish about an employee as long as it is true and provable to a reasonable person. The advice went on to include that if you don't give true information you could be as liable as going the route of giving info that didn't reflect your experience.
In the end its a hard deal. I probably put us at risk cause i don't hide anything as long as i know i told the truth as i know it. If we were all more honest and forth coming we would save each other a lot of grief. Good luck to all on this Art Pfluger |
