If that is the way they do business let them you can't fix stupid. Where 1 window closes another door opens. Something better will turn up. Keep your eyes, ears, and mind open you'll be better off without them.

We as drivers are disrespected all the time. I have heard lots of cases lately of truckers standing up and its not always a good ending. A fellow i know his truck was hit by a train in the parking lot of a location and he wasnt even in the truck and they banned him. Just cover your assets because NOBODY ELSE WILL.

Who parks on/across tracks? Deserves to be band.

Most feed processing locations receive ingredients through a hole in the concrete between the trail track rails.

Some fertilizer gets unloaded on the rail as well

If your dispatcher won't find alternative locations and stand up for you then it is time for you to find a new company. This might open the door to hauling something other than grain. If you ask older owner operators most will tell you they have changed companies and what they haul for various reasons. Freight slows down, the pay is not good, the pay is not fast enough, or they just couldn't get along there anymore. So hold your head high and look at this as an opportunity!

read my message again. he was hit in the parking lot which yes shares rail tracks as well but it's not mainline tracks. its was the companys train maneuvering cars in the lot and instead of firing their own union employees for hitting a truck and triggering a fullblown investigation they chose to exploit the trucker. Just a warning that if something like this happens i would demand a full report from the police
