This is just my Venting/Opinion: I know how tight the Dry Bulk rates are, we are a Non-Haz Ag-Carrier of Liquid loads. Lately several Brokers/Load Originators are asking for trucking rates to go down like $4-600/load on 685 miles. Plus you still have to take the wash off which for Tanks is roughly $150-$220 depending on where you go. Business is Business I understand that but when you have handled certain lanes for years it is hard to swallow. Again not starting a Bashing session I just wanted to Vent and voice my opinion. Couldn't we all stand together as Trucks/Drivers and Dispatchers and do our best to match the same rates? Competition I understand, but why go lower when you could better yourself?? Take the loads from each other (we are a broker also) ( several compines are the same Carrier/Brokers) and make as much or more?? Things are alwys tight and hard to make a buck $$$ maybe work together at times and benefit everybody...It helps at times to work with your Competitors like it or not! The best thing not to do is fall off on your rates. Shippers are just as bad as brokers and the only ones really losing money is us as truckers. Personally, I'm tired of sob stories. This is business. I got one to maintain like you do and with costs going up continuously but yet these brokers want you to stop doing what you're doing and drop back to rates from 1964, it's 2019. Well I did see Schneider dragging tankers. It wasn't that long ago that started. Also JB Hunt dragging steel scrap dump trailers, chicken trailers. Guess they need another basket to put some eggs in.

Well boys and girls, that is where the rate increase comes up! We will haul your freight faithfully, honestly and safely UNTIL you cut us out to a rate cutter! When that happens and we get called to pick up the pieces when the rate cutter leaves, our rates go up! We were hauling freight before the loads that are offered and we will be hauling freight long after the loads are done. Hell no! We will not haul cheap freight! Ladies and gentlemen, we are not in this proffession to make friends, for our good health or just because we love the job! We are here to make an honest living, provide for our families and provide good service for an honest rate! Be safe out there!

Just an idea,I know you can't get 2 people in this industry to agree where to go have breakfast,but I think it would be a great idea if we could get some of us together,and work with each other and eliminate these brokers,we can all work at fair rates and not try and cut each others throats.I know it sounds like rainbows and lollipops but,it seems to work pretty well for OPEC.If we do this we could take control of things again,and push out Mega Broker.Just say no to brokers and lets work together for a common interest/survival.

Just an idea,I know you can't get 2 people in this industry to agree where to go have breakfast,but I think it would be a great idea if we could get some of us together,and work with each other and eliminate these brokers,we can all work at fair rates and not try and cut each others throats.I know it sounds like rainbows and lollipops but,it seems to work pretty well for OPEC.If we do this we could take control of things again,and push out Mega Broker.Just say no to brokers and lets work together for a common interest/survival.
