New to bulk game. Everywhere I’ve unloaded at has made me sign stating i haven’t hauled and prohibited materials. What are these materials? Can you haul them with a washout prior? Any input is appreciated!

-Animal by-products i.e blood meal, meat & bone meal, chicken meal, require getting a washout prior to loading feed ingredients. A lot of places even want 3 prior loads without animal by-products.

-Manure or litter is similar to the animal by-products where at least a washout is required before hauling feed ingredients.

-Certain fertilizers

-Aggregates can be a tricky one, certain aggregates like lime and gypsum usually don't require a washout, but some places don't want aggregates to be a prior load.

- Scrap or shredded metal or aluminum

- Tires

Most places will have a list and it differs a little frome place to place. If your not sure I'd call before you load and make sure your good, don't want to have to buy out the load

I've seen contracts that will never allow the use of a trailer that has hauled certain products. The rate con should have the details in it.

I agree that the rate con should stipulate everything. Wash out, prohibitive materials, etc. Why haven't any brokers or commodity shippers joined in and posted any rules to this thread? Art Pf

Glass is another product that they don't like previous to feed loads . Best thing is if hauling feed loads try only hauling feed . The certified washout alot of places require doesn't exist ! Also at times you need to travel 50 miles or more to find a wash out , wait in line for hours & pay up to $100 for a half ass wash out .

Most Blue Beacons won't wash out a end unless you have a man door or swing gate & wont touch a hopper. Also have never come across a certified wash out .

If you receive a receipt from a hopper washout it's considered a certified washout, the Beacon in Minot ND is one of only two in the entire country that will washout hoppers, can't remember where the other one is.
