This is to all brokers that post on Bulkloads: When posting a load, please do not put the point of pick up 50 to 100 miles away from where it actually picks up. the same goes with the destination. Also, please remove loads after you have covered them. it saves us time, and reduces phone calls to you.

And when we call about a load we are calling about that load. Not something that you think you need covered really bad that you think we want to do.

Yes when I notice broker has habit of that I don't bother to call them anymore

I am not a broker but I work traffic for a wholesale lumber company. I try to always post true pickup and destination locations but the problem I run into is; someone will call on one of my loads and ask where in the world is that place. I spend at least 5 minutes on the phone with them trying to give them a general location. I give miles when I can but sometimes I have to post to the closest recognized location to avoid this or to attract someone that knows that doesn't quite know that area.

I have been told that sometimes a broker will show a different origin to expand the exposure of the available load. Really no different than a carrier expanding their search to find a load. Yes it could seem a little deceitful but maybe worth a call.

Google maps works well to find city an distance for the driver or dispatch. That being said now we covered both problems, actual pickups are best.

Brokers post loads outside of the actual pick up or drop off locations so some of us seasoned owner operators dont just google where and what the actual customer is , real easy to figure out drop an email or make a call and get the load direct ., DAH
