Loads in Colorado

It’s probably a combination of the two, but I think it’s only the start of what’s to come. A massive amount of irreversible damage has been done to the economy, so even if they open everything up tomorrow, it will never be the same, the dominoes have already fallen.

There isn’t enough cattle in the feedlots. Since the cattle prices have been so horrifically low. There hasn’t been an bought to replace the ones they gave away a few months ago. Plus the spring run has started and cattle are headed to green grass and off the feed bill. The other problem is Colorado has become a sanctuary state. So every illegal immigrant in the state has went to the wrecking yards and got a truck and trailer.

Your absolutely correct. Normally this time of year my phone is ringing off the hook. It’s been so quiet lately I thought it was broke. I started making calls yesterday to check on my normal cattle customers. Only one out of a dozen or so bought yearlings for this summer. It’s only two loads. Not looking good on my end. If your watching to RFD channel or the DIY channel. And someone is turning a hopper into a flower planter and a cattle pot into a greenhouse. Pretty good chance it’s me.

I never pull any freight off this board, I am small enough that I don’t have to, but I have always used it to routinely monitor the market in various states, and it has been steadily dropping over the past year, really noticed a big drop from January till now, LT ratio’s are down dramatically. Typically anything that winds up on a board is a back hual rate, as it’s all the leftovers that nobody wanted, well obviously now work is tight because none of it is being passed off anymore, but it appears to be that way in every market, I personally know several people in other markets that have thrown in the towel since January. One of them had just put a new shop up a couple years ago, thinking the ELD boom was the new norm.

Dave, not to my knowledge just slower paying.. worst of it is there are1/4 of the trucks are running on Farm plates. Alot more trucks that no one has seen before.. oh well

If you do a search on this site for dump loads in my state, the norm is between 340-700, depending on the time of year, since January of this year though nothing comes up most of the time, an average day lately is between 5-10.
