How much is it worth?

How much is it worth to have a CDL with no moving violations, and hold a valid healthcard and be compliant with all DOT regulations? DOES IT HAVE ANY VALUE AT ALL IN 2022? Oridinary jobs paying $20-$30 dollars a hour seem pretty common these days, everything from fast food to wharehouses seems to be in that price range, hell the guy at the tampon factory is making 60k a year on a 40 hour week, click this link to see for yourself The only Tampax factory in the US pays R80,000 starting salary, still can't hire enough workers | Businessinsider

Here is what the department of labor says truck drivers make per year, and we all know they they are working upwards of 70 hours a week, especially the ones with a ELD exemtion. Heavy and Tractor-trailer Truck Drivers : Occupational Outlook Handbook: : U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov)

It sure doesn't seem like clean CDLs are worth very much these days. I guess a large part of the industry thinks it's easier to get someone with one and grind the shit out of them until they quit or ruin their license rather than treat them right and do everything in their power to help them keep it clean while making a good living. Constant turnover lets them claim the driver shortage is the problem.

When I was 20 years old, I held a Master Electricians License in Texas. back then there was no state license, so anywhere you wanted to do work, you had to test and obtain that city's license, or you could hire a master in that city. I worked my way up to 13 or 14 licenses. You could make a great living working in the trade and leasing out your licenses. Then, as all good things do, it ended. Texas adopted a state license. They made them easier to get, and now if you aren't going to be a contractor, they really aren't worth having. Kind of like CDLs I guess.
