I don't know if we will. You don't see reefers and dry vans, floating down the river on barges....Our rates are based on competition from the rail road, and river barges..... Rates have gone up some, in other markets, but that is normal in a healthy economy, especially around Christmas, so I feel it has nothing to do with E-logs. The market can't give you, what's not there. There will soon be a lot of disappointed drivers out there, when they find out santa's bag is empty..... In the 60's and 70's, truckers could make good money, becuase the shippers had money, as it had not been shipped out of the country to china yet. Today all major retailers are dropping like flies, sears, Jc penny, k- Mart, Etc.... Even Walmart closed two hundred stores this year, and tried to blame it on amazon. Low interest is the only thing keeping stuff going, but that will be coming to a end soon.

Well Chad, I was minding my own business, hauling the freight that makes me money... And then the megga's stuck there nose in my business, and tried to screw stuff up, for all us little guys, so I Now pay attention to what they are doing. In my opinion only a idiot would look the other way, after someone sucker punched them. Bulk rates may suck right now, but don't think for one moment, that the megga's won't go after it, if that's the only work left in the market, when everything turns to shit. The stock market is at an all time high right now, well history tells us that high highs, are followed by low lows......With all of banks getting stiffed by the farmers right now, we could see another financial meltdown just like 2008. You can attack the messenger all you want, but it won't change the outcome.

I've got a truck running reefer now, while I have the others still hauling sand in hoppers. I am NOT impressed with the reefer freight at all. We did this in order to test the reefer market vs the hoppers.

I'm not trying to stir the pot. whatever the case might be for the rates the way they are then fine. if the rates are determined by rail rates or barge rates then fine. My thoughts then let them get it by rail or barge. but when they need us because they don't get there product, then I say stick it to them. Make them pay for not using us. My thoughts are they could use us all the time at a reasonable rate so we were all happy instead of that rail or barge rate excuse. especally when I think we are all more reliable then the rail and barges. any positive comments welcome. thank you for your time.

You asked a very fair question, and you make a very good point. I have come to the conclusion, that none of us are supposed to succeed. The government is doing everything in their power to hold rates down, just look at all of these exemptions they have handed out. And at the same time, they are working with the megga's, to drive down the productivity of all us small guys. The game is rigged against us, we are not supposed to win.
