Thanks for the response. A little pricey to start out, but cheap in the long run I think. Looks pretty simple

The people from where I bought mine said I needed a driver key and a fleet key. My friend bought one from a different place and they just sold him the fleet key. It saved him about 44 dollars. The only difference the driver key won't let the DOT see as much information as the fleet key will. If they asked to plug it into their computer.

I was quoted 750.00 up front money . Does that sound about right ? Does it change duty status automatically ?

That's what I paid. It automatically goes to on duty driving after you reach 5mph. After you stop it will change to on duty not driving after 5 minutes. You have to manually go to off duty or sleeper birth. You also have personal conveyance and yard moves you can choose .

The USB is for the driver and fleet key to down load the info to put on your personal computer. The DOT can plug into it if they want too.But printing the last 7 days is all they need to see.

My wife liked to pull her hair out. But after she and tech support emailed back and forth for 2 days they figured she needed to change her browser and stop pop ups and then it worked she was able to get the app.

They didn't charge her anything for helping her. And if you are home every 7-8 days you don't need the more expensive eld that does WIFI and the solo package you get is free no monthly charge and free upgrades.

Their ( support) was less than poor. Couple that with my computer ignorance and you have a bad taste.. The email they responded with was watch the video and do it yourself... I have to ask about the fore mentioned 7 or 8 day thing. Is it a usb size thing... Would I need to print on my eighth day out or plug into the laptop ?

Your going to pay 30 a month for the rest of your life and VDO is 750 one time, so according to my math its cheaper to go with VDO. Its amazing how much stupid is on this forum and people just try to educate themselves and do the right thing the first time. But no, there is always name calling from the uneducated

Harold, as I understand it, peterbilt came out with a new truck just for the E-Log guys, they replaced the passenger seat with a toilet, since they may not be able to legally make it to the bathroom in time..... Bahhahaha.

Until you figure down time. Peterbilt parts guy just called me yesterday. Had another guy return his vdo for rand McNally system. Vdo kept freezing up on him. I had the same problem when I had one. Cheaper isn't always better.

Does anyone have any information on apollo https://eld.gurtam.com/? My company is looking for an eld solutions and I would like to hear what everyone here is using.
At the moment we choose between keeptrucking and apollo. But our company is quite small and keeptrucking offers really high prices. On the other hand apollo seems to be not so popular among vehicle companies. |
