Stop the negativity

Sometimes when I read these comments I feel more like I'm on somebody's Facebook page instead of a business oriented forum. If you aren't interested in something someone is posting there isn't a rule saying that you have to make a negative comment. All I'm asking is to show some respect to others that are trying to grow their business here. If you are getting loads for $5-$6 per mile good for you. If anything, you should share where you are getting your loads otherwise shut up. Thank you

It sound like a logistics broke having coming right out and saying your fishing. If we could just focus on everybody working on getting there own rates up to where they should be, you would not have to be fishing to get into the markets to destroy that them to by cutting everybodys throat.

You should share where you are getting your loads? Why dont you SHARE where you are getting YOUR loads? Those that have the 4-5 dollar loads would be fools to let others know where they are..then there are those that would go in and make that 4-5 dollar loads into 1.50 load....

It's not any of your business or anyone's else for that matter what my rates are or who I haul for. Some that have been around this forum for a while can pretty much guess who I work for 95% of the time. The guys that know the name on the door and are in my area for sure know who I work for. As I was told by a transportation coordinator one time. They are more than willing to negotiate rates with anyone and they are willing to pay for service. I also agree with the other 2 gentlemen that posted above. You seem to be fishing. I'm sure that you'll get about response to this post as you did with your insurance post.

Part of what you feel or consider is negativity might be a learning process. I have a feeling you are somewhat new to all of this. You might benefit from asking educational questions rather than your current plan of attack...just saying.

I like the responses here. Much better than the usual asshole remarks. I am in the learning stage and any advice is appreciated. It seems that you all have mistaken sarcasm for fishing. From my experience No one gives positive advice or give you misleading information in order to assist with your demise. If anyone wants to help me in a positive way You're Welcome. If not all I ask is for you to keep your negative comments to yourself. Thank you

The best advice i can give anyone starting up like this is homework, homework, homework. Decide who your market will be and study it. the next is phone/email work. hundreds and thousands of them. get to know your industry instead of asking someone or having them tell you. a lot of times people say what they think you want to hear and it will be incorrect. know your industry and know your rates. Do not be afraid of asking carriers how much they run for and talking the job out. doing your homework saves you customers, carriers and time but also lets the industry know you have a head for business and trucking. nose to the grindstone and a positive appraoch will gain you business. a lot of carriers will bash you but the ones who are business minded will work with you. but do no by any means expect advice from them that will benfit you. they are in business as well and are not about to hand you their revenue. so....less posting and more homework. i am celebrating my 5th year starting this division and i can tell you, a lot of guys from Bulk Loads have helped me out in the past. This is a good site for interaction and education so stay positivie and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. :)

Also Marvin, be aware of who your competition is and what they are doing. I don't mean be sneaky. Observe.

Telling you where we are getting our freight from is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Quit being lazy and get out there and find it for yourself. If you can not obtain the proper margins for the truck as well as yourself then you need to either get better at the game or quit playing the game. There is no shame in trying and having failed. The only shame is when you chose to not try at all and whine about others not giving you their contacts for their freight.

The negativity will continue as long as individuals continue to feel like they are being taken advantage of because of their own inability to play the game and properly bid at a profit margin instead of some magic elusive rate per mile. It cracks me up how shippers and brokers are now accusing we truckers of price gouging.

Karma is a bitch, what goes around also comes around.
