I am looking for more information on the hopper industry.
Looking at possibly getting in to the hopper industry but wanting to know when or if there’s a slow season?
Can a guy make a decent living without running CA,OR,WA & would prefer not going east of ND,SD,NE,KS,OK, and TX IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
Im based out of Western Idaho and I don’t have a problem going out and staying out for 2-3 weeks as long as I’m making money.
Any information is appreciated.

Thanks, Myke

I think it's worth getting into if you have on ace in the hole customer that you can get a fair amount of steady work. I started in January. Not getting rich but paying the bills. I stay in sd, ND, mn, ia, wi, ne, wy and stay as busy as I want to. I haven't had a slow season, but without my one regular customer, July would have been slow

Good luck

mike there is good money in hopper, but you need be able follow the money. Ca,Wa,Or, are your best states. We are turning down loads paying $3.00 plus all moles because we dont have trucks.but overall i've made more money with hopper over long-term, mile for mile vs. livestock is seasonal. loads are based on 25tn, But if your thinking about ELD ag exempt, DON'T it doesnt work that way.
