Nebraska end dump freight.

Sep 19, 2017 at 07:11 PM CST
My wife and I are considering relocating to the Omaha area. We used to live east of Omaha for a short time, but I pulled a flatbed. I am curious about the amount of end dump freight in the area. I don't mind going out 4-5 days, but I generally head to the house Friday, loaded or not. I currently pull a half round Alumatech, without a grain chute, which does ok in AZ/NM area, but have been looking at bigger trailers. I would consider hopper also. I see quite a few end dump loads, as well as hopper, just curious as to the best way to go. Thanks.

It does exist, but for the most part belt trailers are the most popular in that part of the country, probably because of all the big feed lots ( its cattle country). You see a lot of seven axle rigs. Second most popular is grain hopppers, usually with seven axles, as everyone gets paid according to the amount of weight they haul. The sand and gravel guys like regular dump trucks, with small pup trailers.

We run hoppers and walking floors around the area. Might be able to make something work. Shoot me an email at [email protected] or call 712-792-5424 and ask for Matt

You see mainly 6 & 7s because we're allowed 95k on 7 and 90k on 6. Used to be rates were figured on 50k now it's 60k give it a couple years and it'll be 65k...already is for some. Rates aren't that great around here anymore lot of hoppers have been parked waiting for the rates to come back up. I can't speak for a belt don't haul wet ddg don't have a desire too.
