Infringement of our Rights...Where does it stop

My Wife informed me that a very large shipper that we had wanted to haul for is requiring all trucks to download and run an APP that is supposed to make the transfer of the paperwork easier. However it also gives the shipper the ability to track my truck. My son says that he read that C.H.Robinson has an app called MACRO point and it is blantanly an APP to track your truck, but the app being in your personal phone is going to track you ALL of the time. I understand the brokers and shippers wanting to know where the load is, but by succombing to these tracking devices you now have more people with data about everything you do. I am a little surprised that they want this level of knowledge as I feel it would really tie them to legal obligations in an accident. It is my opinion that by allowing the ELD to come to be we have opened the flood gates to these other things and we will be no more than puppet slaves to these people. If we all made more profit the ELD "might be" tolerable. This other stuff is over the top. I beleive the average person doesn't think this crap through enough before signing up. There are way to many small fleet guys that are so under funded that they don't care. it is strickly profit driven and what that driver is subject to isn't anything they worry about. Drivers just don't stop and think with out doing. My trucks run GPS for my own internal use, I can see where my truck is without interefering with what he is doing. But it stops there. These apps on your phone will track that driver every minute of his life. Its easy for me to not haul for them at this point, but I feel like a grain of sand and this stuff is going to overtake us all with todays level of complacency. Please lets all think this through before it gets any further! I have asked everyone for years to STOP and think...What do we as a group want this Industry to look like? Where are going to draw the line? Are we going to allow these Mega Broker/Shippers have this much intrusion into every minute of our lives? Art Pfluger I apologize for my poor spelling

The equall protection clause of the 14th amendment says that the "Law must be applied equally, to all citizens "...... So anyone who asks for a exemption should be able to get one, not just UPS, Fed-ex, YRC, etc......Any time Walmart has been locked out of a community that they want access to, this is the legal argument they have used, to force their way in........ As folks transition to E- Logs, they will be tracked, and that Data will be collected and sold..... And in the future nobody will need a broker, they will just buy that brokers customer list from Google, or apple, or what ever service provider is handling the Data from the E-logs.... And the Megga's will loose their place, as king of the hill..... Assuming that there is not a societal break down first.

What gets me, is how these supposedly "smart eliteist's", that think technology is so great, are too stupid to see past they're own shoelaces, and realize how this will be used against them in the future. Its not that hard to look at the spots that the truck picked up at, or delivered to, do a reverse search off gps coordinates, and identify the type of business the truck was at, and then look up they're phone number on the internet. Presto, instant customer list! I have been told by reliable sources in the tech sector, that this is already going on.

That rule took the all of the driver's control over when he needs to rest and put it in the hands of a round head who made a rule in Washington who has never seen a truck much less driven one! There were many morning when I got up at a rest area, went down the road to the next rest area and did not feel I was ready for the day yet and took a nap! Also many days when I could run 20 hours.This COOKIE CUTTER, one size fits all laws that are being shoved down our throats is for the birds! As far as tracking our trucks, We do not track our trucks. We trust our drivers will be where they need to be, when they need to be there. I have a fleet of OLD SCHOOL drivers and O/O that do an excellent job! Our office staff is approachable and easy to reach 24 hours per day and I think that is the way things should run! Guys I know that we are being told that we should all roll over and do the tricks that the government wants us to but I at what point do say enough is enough? Trucks supply EVERYTHING in this country and if the amount of trucks diminishes the freight will not move. We can only hope that these things happen and we can regain some control over the industry we have been in. All I can say is that the OLD SCHOOL way is still the best! now we got elds why dont truck drivers just say say i cant cheat with elds and thats the problem

the field that im in the pick up and delivery locations are not open 24/7 we dont drive to nearest truck stop and swap trailers and load get delivered

the fact is that if everyone has to do elds the stuff would come to end because it would take to long to get there

where is all the facts how drivers really drive who is going be at fault when log say drive and driver falls asleep

i cant belive it allmost 2018 and we still let these people regulate us like this

So you fire up the internet, find a load for that driver, going from Texas to California, and you dispatch it to him..... You have now engaged in interstate commerce out of your home..... And let's say you have a family member, who is selling marijuana out of your home, and you have no knowledge of it...... Now a law enforcement can enter your home without a warrant, becuase you are engaged in interstate commerce..... And upon searching your house, they find that shotgun in your closet? The one you use to go hunting with..... Drugs and firearm's in the same residence, puts you in violation of FEDERAL LAW......And since you were working for a motor carrier, that perhaps has a lot of assets $$$$, to go after..... They may decide to use the Ricco laws to go after your employer.......And you thought it was no big deal, when they were setting up the framework, to take constitutional Rights away from drivers?
