Searching the board, I find and pickup many fair and even some great paying loads. However, I have come across a couple of brokers who always have loads they are trying to move at sub $2.00 per mile.
Who is so desperate that they move these? If you wait around at all at origin or destination, you are working for nothing.
I completely understand hauling these loads to get from point A to B, but if you have to deadhead at all to pick them up, I'd rather lift my axle and run empty to a load that pays.

The ATA told us that the ELD would solve the problem of low rates and detention time, But as you have just pointed out, that's not the case.... Here we are one month away from the deadline, and nothing has changed. Other than the fact that the driver shortage has jumped six spots, right to the top of the list. It is now the number one concern of all steak holders...... And the gooberment is handing out H.O.S. exemptions like candy, to prevent rates from going up.... And recruiting Somali pirates, and turning them into truck drivers. The government then pays their wages, so the megga's are subsidized with your tax dollars, and won't run out of drivers.

Rates might improve if you could post on this forum who was offering anything under a certain rate.
